Good to know

Beachfront relaxation
A refurbishment of the hotel’s reception area and restaurant in 2015 has created beautifully light and airy spaces, especially within the reception area – a room defined by whitewashed walls and exposed beams. A small spa was introduced and room improvements are also in evidence, with our standard rooms all now offering a sea view, while larger deluxe rooms provide additional facilities.
 
The large pool area remains a real focal point for activities and evening entertainment, surrounded by decking with sunloungers and parasols, and a separate shaded seating area. Plus, you’ll discover an air of tranquillity throughout the hotel’s lush, well-maintained gardens, while the beach, accessed directly from the hotel, is one of the finest in The Gambia. Its broad golden sweep of sand stretches on endlessly, providing the perfect place to enjoy the warm West African sunshine.
 
 
Dining at Ocean Bay
During the day, the pool bar with pizza oven provides an inviting lunchtime snack, and there’s also the choice of two restaurants; one serving buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner, including Gambian delicacies, and the beachside Buddha Restaurant & Lounge serving beautifully presented sushi as well as other Asian and international dishes.
 
Why not try a cocktail from one of the hotel bars, including a refreshing lemongrass iced tea for which the hotel is well known? There are also themed evenings scheduled during winter, with entertainment including shows by the resident animation team and live bands to appeal to all the family.
 
 
Out and about
In the vicinity, there are a couple of other hotels, local bars, small restaurants including Calypso where crocodile viewing is possible, shops and a craft market all within easy reach, and the popular resort of Kololi is only a 15-minute taxi ride away, presenting a wider offering of bars and eateries.

Please note that a cash-free system within the hotel is in operation so that payment for all services and food/beverages are made via reception - VISA and Mastercard are accepted although there may be charges so cash may be the best option. There are also ATM machines which accept VISA cards close by.
